So I finally watched the great gatsby. It was one of those movies I told robbie I wanted to see in the theater but that never happened. It's okay though, I like my home theater better because it comes with cheap food and a bed. So I'll start off by saying..I haven't read the book since my sophomore year of high school. I loved it then! I got caught up reading the beautiful and the damned this summer instead. I think it was for the best. I know a lot of people had complaints about things not matching up but I didn't notice! As much as I thought Spider-man wouldn't make a good nick caraway, I was completely wrong. I thought everyone was perfectly cast. Sure I told Robbie that New York needed saving a few times throughout the movie, but who can't remember him as Spider-Man. Especially when you watch it so much with your kids?! I do have to say that the movie was sadder then the book to me. I think having to actually see gatsby go through everything is much worse then reading it. Especially the apartment scene when he's trying to get daisy to break up with tom. Regardless I thought this movie was good! Sad, but good.
In other news, nahla has started her gymnastics class. The Halloween party was a success. We went down to gurnee mills née Chicago today, on a whim. It's nice since it's so close! We have a coming week packed with Halloween parties and activities, hopefully we have enough energy!
We just watched it last week! I hadn't read it since high school either, and I thought I remembered it being boring then, so I pulled it out of my book shelf and read it last summer. (When your family was staying at our house, I found your mom reading it too lol) anyway, I still wasn't a fan -- not because it was boring, but because I didn't like it Haha. I appreciate it for the time period piece it was, but nothing more. As far as the movie goes... I thought the male casting was perfect! Female casting, not so much lol. Overall, I don't think I'll ever crave watching it again ;)
