I have this totally rational fear about giving out my email address and phone number to companies. I do a lot of online shopping, and being a college student or just a human in general..i basically have to buy stuff on deal to survive, and feel good about myself.
For one, victorias secret,(have them on email)had a hacker get there email lists. This was like 3 months ago. I still get so much junk mail its ridiculous. I can't get rid of it, and i have the highest filter set on my junk mail. I was pissed...then to top it off, in that same month, my email got hacked, and my facebook, so even though i had a uniform password for everything to make life easy, now i have some things with a different password because of idiot hackers.
on top of that we got a huge virus and had to trash our computer. I still blame victorias secret.
So i dont give out my phone number especially. I dont want to get on a telemarketing list. So what do i do instead? Give out robbies phone number or my parents house number. now i dont even ever get to use the deals because i cant remember then number i put it under. Besides that I'm the only one who gets telemarketer calls on my phone?! how is this possible?
wow. victorias secret has my email listed, but i haven't gotten any junk mail... i feel lucky right now. i do have an email strictly for shopping, etc. i think i've gotten a telemarketing call to my phone once, but a few years ago i remember getting an email from my dad. it said that they are going to start giving out cell phones to telemarketers, and if i signed up at a certain site, it would be illegal for them to call me. if i find it again, i'll send it to you lol
