You can cross that off the list

In my quest to find a future in the world of paycheck working,
at the moment I am just accustomed to slave labor, I have found many careers that do not interest me in the least.
The latest?
Construction.
As many of you know I have been fixing up my house to make it just the way I like it! Most of the work so far has just involved painting, which I hate by the way. This morning however my mother in law and I took on the task of ripping out carpet. We did nahlas room and the living room and let me tell you that job is a beast. Not only do you get covered in mass amounts of sawdust but you get bloody fingers from old staples and tact boards.
The job took most the afternoon between pulling up the carpet and pads and moving furniture out of the way.

After she left thoroughly exhausted and very appreciated I started painting in nahlas room. I really had to push through since I had it for the day. I'm happy to say I'm done, showered and tired.

Tomorrow Robbie and I will be laying the floor.

And so there you have it, I will never work in construction... Except for these few coming weeks while we are laying floor and fixing the deck. :/

  1. So you did decide to rip out the carpet, yay! I have a love hate relationship with carpet. Yea it is soft, but it gets dirty so fast! I am happy to say our new place is all hardwood floor! It worries me a bit with a baby on the way, but I got a super cute floor rug the other day for the nursery which I'm in love with!! What are you going to lay on the floor?

  2. i hate construction too! my dad does side work as a handy man (and by side work, i mean he does service for ppl in the ward for free) and he used to always take us along. while i hate every second of it, i admit that it does feel accomplishing! good luck with the flooring and deck!
