the diaper genie

okay so nahla is ready to start potty training...unfortunately we have to wait at least another month until our house is ready to be moved in to (hopefully not longer)..the banks are still working on paperwork :/

so since nahla is in the office we cant exactly let her go into her big bed for a couple of reasons...1. there isnt enough room for it 2. she would destroy the office or it would destroy her..

so for the past month she has been ripping her diaper off every night, and pees in the bed.

its disgusting, because she will do it in the middle of the night (she still wakes up consistently every night usually around 4 and 6 to play and read her books..and now take off her diaper) then she falls asleep again and you can guess what happens.


If any social worker saw nahlas bed they would probably faint. She insists on having 3 blankets, 2 stuffed animals bigger than her, about 6 littler animals, and about 10 books with her bottle in her bed. So even though i have a video monitor i cant even find her in her bed at night to see if shes still wearing her diaper.

So we have tried everything to keep her in her diaper..below are our attempts, keep in mind she has escaped them all..the escape will be in ()

1. tape (pulled off)

2. packing tape and electrical tape (stretched out the tape then slipped off the diaper)

3. footy pjs with a child safety pin over the zipper (stuck her fingers between the safety pin and jimmied the zipper through)

4. a leotard (pulled it off)

5. a leotard with clothes pinned over (pulled the clothes down from the top with the leotard attached)

6. a dora the explorer pull up (she loves dora..it was a desperate attempt..she ripped it off)

7. a pull up with clothes pinned over, pins hiding beneath her clothes (easy..she knows how to open child safety pins apparently)


I am being outsmarted by a two year old. Robbie says she has his brains and my attitude lol how nice of him to say right? My mom even got those child locks to put over the doorknobs.. she learned how to open it in less than 5 min. Shes a genius.

i should be proud, but im over my head in pee stained sheets, clothes, ripped diapers, febreeze, and my own tears.
