Christmas really stresses me out. I look forward to it every year seriously.. but once its here i just want it to be over with.
It really does damage to my credit cards. I always stay within a budget, but seriously we have like no extra room in our budget for anything, especially 8 family members on my side, 5 on robbies and ourselves and nahla. Oh add in nahlas birthday in december, and saint nicks. Seriously, then there is always the extra people that get thrown in, grandparents, boss, friends...why do i socialize again?
i would love to get everyone awesome presents, i love giving people presents, which is sort of the problem. Its extremely hard to find NICE cheap gifts..very stressful.
You know what else kills me, they have awesome sales. so while i am buying things for family members i think, wow i could really use new bras. VICTORIAS SECRET!! You never do buy one get one 50% off and i never have a $10 gift card at the SAME time, let me spend more money. I am very much coveting and hating that store this month.
And then a car breaks down, awesome, while it happens to us every month, (we shouldn't really be surprised) its just one more thing we need to pay for.
Its really great for retail, they have created a whole month based off the fact that 3 men gave jesus some incense when he was about 2. Just like they have done with every other holiday, although i dont think they have made it happen for sweetest day. We already have valentines day....no more..seriously. In october im preparing for december.
I will never get rid of present giving at my house, i think that would make me a horrible mom. But i will dread it every year, you can count on that.
P.s. i have decided i am reading the chirstmas story via luke?! i believe every christmas...isn't that what im supposed to be celebrating? Horray for baby jesus!
lol jaren was pretty happy that we weren't doing christmas at my house this year when he found out how our family does it: christmas morning before opening presents we read the christmas story from all four gospels. then we eat breakfast. then we open presents. we literally read the bible for like 2 hours. hahaha. yays for shopping/giving time of the year!
ReplyDeletei actually don't know how we managed to keep out budget so low so far. my side of the family cosed us like $30? plus we gave my parents a giftcard that we got for our wedding lol
