Welcome all into the mind of Ashley. Here is a yearly occurrence that is beyond annoying for me to handle.
New Years Resolutions-
Let me start with the cliche i want to lose ___ pounds resolution. First of all i'm sure you were thinking prior to the first of January that you wanted to lose weight. Why didn't you begin a work out regimen when this idea popped into your head? Even if it was after the last Christmas cookie on the 25th. Think about it you could be like a week in. Why do you need a date to decide when you are going to improve yourself? Weight wise or any other.
Lets say i wanted to stop being so negative. For one i may have to stop writing this blog entry. But the thing is if i thought this January 23 i wouldn't wait until next new year to begin it.
I understand someone thought it was a great way to make the world a better place. All ive seen it do is make someone upset come February when they realize their vegan diet isn't panning out like they expected.
I never make new years resolutions and guess what? I never disappoint myself. There is no pressure about my year going down the toilet if i don't end up joining the save the whales campaign by 2012.
My advice. Change what you want about yourself on your time..not because someone decided that TODAY IS THE DAY. If you think you are just perfect the way you are, you're probably right, no resolution needed.
