Mad Men...they really were mad and sexist

So i watched the first two episodes of mad men tonight. I can never decide what i think completely until i know what the characters are like, and there are a LOT of characters. Plus they aren't very predicable.

Its a little slow moving, i feel like i can leave the room to go get food, come back and i didn't miss much. With entourage i was running back and forth. haha

It seems as though women in the workplace back then had sex to get ahead, in their secretary job. (Really they never got promoted from there) It also seems like if they really drank and smoked as much as they do on the show there shouldn't be anyone from that generation left. Also with the amount of sleeping around that is happening they should all have syphilis. (Although it seems to only be okay for the men to sleep around. If the women do they are whores. Odd thought process really, unless the men want to be sleeping with each other they need the "whores".)

Women did not get respect at all, it seems like. Not even from their husbands, i can tell you i would not take that crap. If robbie wants lunch he knows better then to ask me to make him a sandwich, hes got two hands. If he did ask, he may no longer have use of them. I'll do the laundry and clean the house, because i feel like its my job. I don't work as much as him so our work is split 50/50 i just end up doing more at the house, which im okay with. I however am not in charge of making sure he gets fed. Thats essential to his survival, if he feels otherwise then i suppose thats where Darwin comes in. I will make dinner, only because i make dinner for myself as well, whats one more person...
