Humm what would i give this movie? 2 out of 5 stars. This was another movie robbie has wanted to watch. We got it from netflix about a week ago and i finally decided i would watch it with him. I was expecting to be bored, turns out i wasn't.
I was turned off by some of it. It was a bit disturbing, but i suppose i would expect nothing less from a man who was unjustly served after the murder of his wife and daughter.
My thoughts, the movie should have ended an hour earlier. It was enough of a mystery to keep me entertained, but i thought the ending blew chunks. The idea that he bought the building next to the jail to tunnel into maximum security prision so he could come and go as he pleased was rediculous. (I hope our max security prison isn't so poorly maintained)HOW DID NO ONE NOTICE HIM DOING THIS? Especially since they said he tunneled into every room, weren't there tenants in some of them? And then the cop blowing up the jail, HELLO what about the other inmates? Do we not care about them or something..were they evacuated in the 5 seconds it took him to get over there from his previous location? This cop spent the entire movie chasing around this mass murderer always a step behind but can all of a sudden come up with a plot to stop a bomb from exploding, trap the prisoner in his cell, and come up with that fabulous speech in no time at all...pulllease.
Dont get me wrong, enjoyable yes, believable not so much..but thats what movies are for. Worth seeing, i guess, but i just spoiled the ending for you.
when i first started reading your entry, it sounded a lot like a movie that jaren and i just watched last week on netflix--the shawshank redemption. but it sounds like the movie we watched was a little less action and a little more... umm... i guess the best adjective to use is "morgan freeman-ish" lol. if you haven't seen it already, i recommend it; not a waist of time!
